Travelers will experience our collection of over 100 apple banana trees. This activity will give travelers an opportunity to not only see our collection, but experience hands-on cultivating techniques such as cutting and planting. They will also get an opportunity to learn about a number of other plants and trees from the Hawaiian rainforest. Our property is located on an 800 year old lava flow in the Hawaiian jungle which features our collection of lava rock sculptures, Hawaiian tikis and our off-grid lifestyle that travelers will also learn about.

What To Expect
Travelers will begin by touring 1 acre of our apple banana tree collection. . Our apple banana trees are located in the Hawaiian rainforest on the east side of the Big Island. Our property is located on an 800 year old lava flow. It includes 105 apple banana trees along with a number of other tropical plants. We will discuss our planting and cultivation techniques with you. We will give you a hands-on opportunity to propagate live trees, examine the inner stem and harvest the fruit directly from our banana tree collection! Once a banana tree bears fruit it must be cut down, travelers will be able to do the cutting. They will cut open the inner stalk to see the core which is edible. After harvesting the fruit directly from the tree, travelers will then cut the seeding flower and plant it to create a new banana tree.
